So, with it being Christmas this past week, I didn’t get too much done for the big book launch, but in between the gifts and festivities and other holiday fun there was some time to do a few book related things.
I’m Having a Virtual Launch Party
I made the decision to have a virtual launch party by way of a streaming YouTube video to celebrate my book launch. Provided everything goes according to plan folks should be able to watch the video live on YouTube through this link. I’m using my already existing Awkard Author channel and planning on using software from StreamYard to stream my video. This is all new for me, so I am a bit nervous, but hopefully everything goes according to plan.
What all is involved in a virtual launch party? Well, my plan is to talk a little bit about by book and the series in general. Read a few passages from the book, and then try to do a question and answer via the live chat feature.
Anyway, this livestream will be taking place on my release day, January 12th at 7 p.m. EST. So, if you are at all interested in seeing what a virtual launch party is all about, I invite you to stop by for the festivities. Again, this is the link to the video.
Sending Holiday Cheer
I sent out my latest email newsletter to my mailing list this week. This was just a very short email wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, but since I had also scheduled that virtual launch party I sent the info about that as well. Usually I write a longer post for my newsletter, but I didn’t really have the time to write one, and I figured that a lot of folks were in the same boat this past week and didn’t have the time to read one.
Setting Up Facebook Ads
Well, after some initial issues, I think I now have three seperate Facebook ads set up and ready to start running once Up the Creek launches on January 12th. Of course, they had made changes since the last time I ran an ad, and there’s always a bit of a learning curve, but I think (fingers crossed!) I got everything figured out.
I have some other advertising I want to work on as well. Hopefully I’ll get to that this week, but once again I expect it to be a slightly less productive week on the book promotion front. It’s sort of like the calm before the storm around here.
